Lead Asst Men's Water Polo Coach
Summary
The assistant Men’s Water Polo coach will assist the head coach with all aspects of the program including: recruiting, practice and planning, coaching, individual skill development, and administrative tasks. Biola University is a Christian institution in line with the Protestant tradition and theologically conservative. As such, a successful candidate will have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and will agree to Biola University’s doctrinal statement. Strong candidates will be Kingdom minded and focused on positively impacting our student-athletes, spiritually, athletically, academically, and personally. The position is a one-year part-time contract position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be present and assist with all fall and spring training sessions and competitions (unless previously arranged).
- Know and adhere to all university, conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.
- Learn and utilize ARMS/Teamworks compliance software for all compliance tracking and reporting.
- Complete all NCAA D2 University mandatory courses annually, prior to participating an any CARA activity and off-campus recruiting.
- Attend all rules education meetings unless excused.
- Recruiting
- Assist in the coordination of recruiting efforts.
- Attend competitions off-campus to recruit PSAs, submitting all forms prior to off campus recruiting, as directed by the head coach.
- Maintain email and phone contact with PSAs and log all PSA contacts in ARMS within 48 hours.
- Set up and complete unofficial and official visits with PSAs and all associated compliance paperwork in ARMS including transcript submission, visit request form(s), student host forms, etc.
- Manage and update IRL list on a weekly basis
- Manage and update ARMS/Teamworks recruiting profiles on a weekly basis to reflect our current interest level
- Administrative
- Work in conjunction with head coach as a primary monitor in ARMS/Teamworks. Submitting forms in ARMS, utilizing the Transfer Portal, reviewing online questionnaires, updating camp information online via ARMS, submitting team travel itineraries, and other compliance duties as assigned.
- Accurately log CARA activity in ARMS and submit it to the compliance office prior to the deadline on a weekly basis.
- Monitor and oversee the study hall program.
- Monitor student-athlete grades
- Responsible for the team calendar to meet all deadlines and keep calendar up-to-date, and accurate for all practices and competitions.
- Assist with organization of fundraising efforts throughout the year.
- Work with coaching staff to coordinate service projects for the team throughout the fall and spring and submit the appropriate approval forms via ARMS accurately and on time.
- Manage uniform and gear needs for the team including ordering, filling out/turning in forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
- $19.00 per hour
