Work Schedule: 15-20 hours per week; shifts based on operational need of the organization. This position will be working on campus.

ASI is considered a part of the Cal Poly Pomona Division of Student Affairs with a dashed reporting line to Administrative Affairs. POSITION DEFINITION
Under general supervision of the Data & Assessment Coordinator, the Research Project Assistant supports quality research projects by conducting literature reviews, producing high-level written documents, assists with project needs, and collaborates with department-wide projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Conducts research on various organizational development topics including but not limited to learning organization, compensation and benefit development, student success and development, professional development, and other related organizational effectiveness topics
- Conducts independent resource and study searches and produces quality, timely literature reviews, white papers, and reports
- Leads assigned projects providing timely, effective deliverables
- Works closely with the data analyst assistant team to summarize findings, develop reports and coordinate the development of report visualizations
- Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or updates files, records, and other project-related documents
- Safeguards "Level 1” confidential information related to data collection and reports
- Plans and supports special project meetings and follow-up coordination
- Assists with special projects as needed
- Utilizes software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Team, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), data related software (Qualtrics, Dedoose, etc.) and Adobe (PDF, Photoshop, etc.)
- Performs other related duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Organizational Development, Business Management, or other closely related field
- Two years of experience utilizing research strategies, producing white papers and literature reviews, or working with data visualization summary reports
- Excellent writing skills and strong familiarity with MLA and APA writing styles
- Advanced utilization of Microsoft Office Suite (Team, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe (PDF, Photoshop, etc.),
- Familiarity with data related software (Qualtrics, Dedoose, etc.) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to provide direct and kind feedback and assistance
- Ability to perform accurate, detailed work
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to maintain professional work conduct

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY
Employment with ASI is open to any Cal Poly Pomona student who is at least 16 years old and of legal status to work in the United States. In addition, the employee must be currently enrolled for at least 6.0 units (undergraduate) and 4.0 units (graduate), international student employees must be enrolled in a minimum of 12.0 units (undergraduate) and 6.0 units (graduate) at the end of the drop-add period, have a minimum 2.0 GPA (both Cal Poly Pomona and overall GPA) and be in good standing with the University. Individuals enrolled only in Extended University are not eligible for hire. Exceptions to the unit load requirement are allowed during the summer and winter semesters and for students who have applied for graduation for the current semester.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear; manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and verbal communication; use of office equipment: telephones, calculator, copier and fax. Must be able to walk, stand, bend and lift up to 45 pounds.
