Job Description

Job Title: Flag Football - Girls Head Coach

Location: Lake Central High School

Position Type: Temporary/Part-Time/Stipend

Reports To: Athletic Director

Job Closes: April 15, 2026 or thereafter until filled


Summary
Lake Central High School is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our extracurricular athletic program for the upcoming season. This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to work with student-athletes, fostering their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while promoting a positive and engaging athletic environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and a commitment to the development of young athletes.


Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor student-athletes in designated sports, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
- Plan and conduct regular practices, ensuring they are engaging, safe, and productive.
- Organize and oversee competitive events, including games and tournaments, while ensuring adherence to all regulations and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and athlete progress.
- Promote good sportsmanship and a positive competitive spirit among student-athletes.
- Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of student-athletes, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and organized environment for practices and competitions.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance the overall athletic program and student experience.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous coaching experience or participation in athletics at a high school.
- Strong knowledge of the sport being coached, including rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the athletic schedule.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
- Passion for youth development and a commitment to fostering a positive athletic experience.
