Job Description

The Braintree Public Schools seeks to hire a long-term substitute Speech and Language Pathologist to work at the ABLES program at Liberty Elementary School from mid-March through the end of school in June. Students in the ABLES Program present with autism-spectrum disorder and are primarily non-verbal and learning language. Speech and language sessions are conducted individually. Experience working with students who are nonverbal or have autism-spectrum disorder and developmental delays is preferred. Most students utilize augmentative communication devices and systems, so experience with AAC devices is necessary. Candidates must also have appropriate licensure and be MA DESE certified.


 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Conducting Speech and Language evaluations and interpreting results, eveloping recommendations and writing IEP goals, and participating in Team meetings;

  • Designing and implementing individual and small group speech and language therapy for students with identified disabilities

  • Monitoring progress towards IEP goals and collect data for progress reports;

  • Collaborating with ABLES staff

  • Providing consultation services to parents/caregivers as needed.
