GovCIO is currently hiring for a Junior ServiceNow Developer to assist in the design, development, and maintenance of mission-enabling applications supporting the U.S. Coast Guard. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
As a Junior ServiceNow Developer, you will work within a team environment to deliver functional applications and automated workflows in accordance with the Software Lifecycle Management Plan (SLMP). Core responsibilities include:
- Develop and configure applications within the ServiceNow platform, utilizing tools such as Flow Designer, App Engine Studio, and ServiceNow Studio to create solutions that meet mission objectives.
- Collaborate with team members to understand business requirements and translate them into functional ServiceNow features, forms, and service portal components.
- Support the SDLC by participating in methodologies such as Scrum, Agile, and DevSecOps to ensure consistent platform releases and Update Set deployments.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving platform issues, including UI Policies, Client Scripts, and Business Rules, as well as addressing functional defects.
- Maintain quality standards by applying ServiceNow best practices and "out-of-the-box" development standards to minimize technical debt.
- Adhere to security protocols by developing applications that conform to USCG system security requirements, ServiceNow Access Control Lists (ACLs), and federal guidelines.
- Support software lifecycle tasks, including technical documentation of ServiceNow configurations and assisting in the migration of legacy processes into the platform.
Qualifications
High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills & Experience
- Foundational experience with the ServiceNow platform.
- Basic understanding of the SDLC and familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to follow technical documentation and security policies in accordance with federal standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on learning ServiceNow integrations and automated workflows.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience or interest in supporting U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow’s Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and learning the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or similar platform training.

USD $85,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
