Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Engineers coordinate the introduction of new work to the shop floor. They assist Manufacturing with manufacturing issues for the life of the part. Assist Sales/Estimating with design concerns and cost estimating.

About the Role

In this role the Manufacturing Engineers launch new work according to the APQP process to allow efficient start up on time. They prepare and maintain control plans, process flows, operate & monitor instructions and other documentation for specific parts to ensure proper manufacturing processes. They manage projects to ensure smooth equipment installation, acquire new equipment for advanced technology to maximize profit and quality. The Engineers support manufacturing by troubleshooting and resolving production problems to minimize machine downtime. They are expected to interface with customer to ensure customer's needs are being met and implement process improvement / cost savings ideas to improve our current work and profit. They support Design & Tool Room to ensure tools and equipment are built properly and review required production quotes for accuracy.

Leadership and Management Competencies

  • Able to work effectively on their own (self-starter)

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (Industrial, Systems or Mechanical Engineer preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Excel and Power Point skills
  • CAD experience (Solidworks and AutoCad a plus)

Technical Qualifications

  • Process design knowledge including Machining, Tubular Assemblies, Tool & Fixture Design preferred
  • Quality Planning knowledge including Control Plan, PFMEA, Flow diagram, Measurement devices, Measurement / Lay out Techniques, Basic Statistical & metallurgy knowledge preferred
  • General machine controls knowledge including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, logic & machine programming preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow, Green, and/or Black Belt Certified preferred

Physical demands: May be required to work extended hours as needed

Travel required: International travel may be required<10%
