Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support a newly mobilised, high-profile contract within a complex, fast-paced transport environment. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to play a key part in establishing strong financial foundations from the outset.

Reporting to the Account Manager, you will oversee the full financial management of the contract, ensuring accurate billing, robust cost control, and transparent financial reporting. You will work closely with operational teams and service delivery functions to align financial outcomes with work order activity and contract requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and solutions-focused, with a strong ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights that support operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end billing processes, ensuring all invoices are accurate, validated, and submitted on time 
  • Oversee contract revenue streams, including preventative, corrective, and variation works 
  • Reconcile work order data with financial inputs to ensure accuracy and completeness 
  • Monitor contract performance against budgets, forecasts, and financial targets 
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including analysis of revenue, costs, and variances 
  • Validate costs across labour, subcontractors, and materials in line with contract rates 
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, financial governance, and audit standards 
  • Partner with operational teams to align service delivery with financial outcomes 
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes and partner with the Operations team to address

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline 
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance or related role 
  • Experience in contract finance, billing, or financial management within service-based environments 
  • Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and forecasting 
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance and able to work independently to client deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams 

Desirable:

  • Experience in facilities management, infrastructure, or complex service contracts with subcontractor management
  • Exposure to CMMS systems (e.g. Maximo) and linking operational data to financial outputs 
  • Experience in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments 
  • ASIC clearance (or ability to obtain)
