Job Description
Responsibilities The Director of Infrastructure & Field Services is responsible for delivering reliable, scalable, and secure technology environments across both corporate and jobsite operations. This role owns the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise infrastructure—including cloud, network, systems, and field technology—ensuring consistent performance and availability across all locations. The Director ensures infrastructure is standardized, scalable, and aligned with business needs while operating within enterprise architecture guidance and partnering closely with Cybersafety to ensure appropriate protection and risk management. Infrastructure Strategy & Platform Ownership Define and execute enterprise infrastructure strategy across cloud, on-prem, hybrid, and network environments Establish infrastructure as a standardized and scalable platform Align infrastructure decisions with enterprise architecture standards and direction Drive modernization including cloud adoption and platform consolidation Network, Systems & Cloud Operations Own performance, reliability, and availability of infrastructure environments Ensure high availability and resilience of critical services Implement proactive monitoring and performance management Continuously improve stability and cost efficiency Cloud Platform Ownership Provide and maintain infrastructure platforms (e.g., cloud services, MDM, device connectivity, provisioning pipelines) Support deployment and lifecycle logistics of cloud services Ensure infrastructure platforms enable enforcement of security standards Implement infrastructure capabilities required to support security controls defined by Cybersafety Maintain accountability for operational health and user experience Field Services & Jobsite Technology Own delivery of jobsite technology including connectivity and systems Standardize jobsite setup and support models Ensure consistency and reliability across projects Align field technology with business and operational needs Infrastructure Automation & Operational Efficiency Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices Reduce manual processes and variability Improve deployment speed and consistency Increase operational efficiency through standardization Security Partnership & Implementation Partner with Cybersafety to align with security standards Implement required security controls across environments Ensure infrastructure decisions incorporate security requirements Support a secure and resilient environment Capacity, Performance & Reliability Management Ensure infrastructure scales with business demand Manage capacity and performance proactively Prevent issues through planning and forecasting Maintain uptime and reliability Vendor & Technology Management Manage vendor relationships and technology selection Align tools with enterprise strategy Avoid unnecessary complexity Optimize cost and value Leadership Expectations Act as enterprise owner of platforms and environments Engage in healthy, constructive tension to enforce standards Challenge ad hoc solutions that reduce scalability Balance standardization with flexibility for field needs Build a culture of operational excellence Develop leaders across infrastructure and field services Drive proactive operations over reactive response Collaborate across IT functions within defined architecture and security boundaries Measures of Success Reliability and uptime of infrastructure environments Consistency of jobsite technology deployments Reduction in incidents and performance issues Efficiency gains through automation Scalability to support business growth Alignment with Cybersafety standards Cost optimization of infrastructure Business feedback on reliability and usability Team Scope Infrastructure (systems, cloud, platforms) Network engineering Field services (jobsite technology) Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field required Minimum of 5 years of experience including strong leadership Relevant certifications preferred Required Experience & Capabilities Experience leading infrastructure in complex environments Strong knowledge of cloud, networking, and systems Experience managing distributed environments Experience driving standardization and automation Ability to balance enterprise and field needs Strong leadership and communication skills Experience collaborating across IT and business teams
