SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise and manage the activities of frontline slot department staff and assist in the management of all slot department operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is responsible for assisting in the management and performance of the slot department staff including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, payroll activities and training and development activities.
- Ensures that slot department staff are providing exceptional guest services to assist in guest relations, profitability of the slot department and the overall profitability of the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
- May assist in the performance of frontline slot department staff activities to ensure guest expectations and slot department operations are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assists in the monitoring of internal operations including daily operations, scheduling and management of policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with State, NIGA regulations and Minimal Internal Control Standards.
- Works closely with the slot manager to analyze slot performance and implements enhancements to maximize revenues
- Is responsible for participating in the development and adherence to the slot department budget that may include staff and equipment forecasting.
- Responsible for recommending and maintaining slot department objectives, standards and policies and procedures for review by the Slot Manager.
- Resolves associate interdepartmental or guest disputes in accordance with established policies and procedures and informs Slot Manager of issues and outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the direct supervision of approximately fourteen associates.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Operates independently with supervision received from the Slot Manager. May review major or unusual decisions with Slot Manager.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Frequent contact with associates at all levels within all departments of the organization.
External: Continual contact with guests and visitors. Occasional contact with suppliers.
EDUCATION: A High School education or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years supervisory experience in a slot environment with an emphasis in a customer focused environment is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation, problem solving, and people management skills. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary. Experience with PC’s and related software is preferred.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work Conditions: The majority of position responsibilities are performed on the gaming floor and within an office environment with exposure to differentials in temperature.
Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to situations where spills, wet floors or guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend or lift for extended periods of time.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to be licensed by the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Gaming Commission.

OTHER: Must be able to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays and be available for call in to work on short notice. Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in departmental training and development sessions.
