     GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
               The duties and responsibilities include the daily overall care, cleaning, and maintenance of the facility to which he/she is assigned.
     
    JOB GOAL
           To maintain the physical school plant and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times.
     
    EVALUATION
           According to bargaining agreement.
     
    ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
     

    1. Works in cooperation with the building administrators and other staff members to ensure and promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and employees.
    2. Maintains and ensures ongoing maintenance of building and equipment at all times by submitting work requests through the districts work order database.

     
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CAPACITIES
     

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and blueprints.
    • Ability to interpret, understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to perform hands on duties and physically able to manipulate heavy objects.
    • Ability to operate and use safely all equipment related to perform duties.
    • Proficiency in computer use for operational reports and maintenance of work order database, energy management systems, programmable equipment, etc.
    • General knowledge of basic trades including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and ability to perform general repairs as needed related to building custody.
    • A clear understanding of and ability to maintain on site all state mandated programs such as;
      • Asbestos Management Plan (AMP)
      • Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM)
      • Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
      • Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP)
      • Green Cleaning

     
    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
     

    1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    2. Must have an acceptable performance record.
    3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

     TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & SALARY
     As established by the agreement between the Board of Education and the Brookfield Custodian's Association.
