    Job Title:            Cafeteria Monitor

    Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt

    Reports to:     Principal  

    Dept./School:  Food Service/ As assigned

     

    Primary Purpose:

    To assist, monitor and supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch. 

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    HS diploma or HS diploma equivalency

    Special Knowledge:

    • Constructive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the aide, the school, the staff and the students.
    • Abilitiy to communicate effectively

    Salary Information:

    • Paygrade: H1
    • Days: 165
    • Hours: 3 per day

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

     

    1. Monitor and supervise students in the cafeteria.
    2. Help students advance through the serving line and past the cashier.
    3. Maintain a lunchroom atmosphere of cheerfulness, cleanliness, orderliness and personal caring.
    4. Manage student behavior in the cafeteria and make discipline referrals to campus administration.
    5. Assist in clearing and wiping cafeteria tables.
    6. Help students exit the cafeteria and return to their classrooms in a safe and orderly manner.
    7. Attendance at work is an essential function.
    8. Other duties as assigned by the campus principal or designee.

    Working Conditions:  Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:  Pushing, walking, standing, specific visual and hearing requirements (monitoring students in cafeteria), constant noise.

    Maintain emotions during high stress environment
