Responsibilities:
As an XRF Applications Scientist, your role is to support pre- and after-sales application activities in the APAC Region. This will include academic, R&D, and industrial customers predominantly in Australia and New Zealand.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Conduct demonstration and trainings of XRF hardware and software, virtually or in-person, at our Application Lab within Australia or user site in the region.
- Be the technical expert to advise Sales and customers on technical performance and capabilities during the purchasing process.
- Together with Sales, complete sample analysis and present measurement reports in a professional manner, virtually or in-person.
- Together with Application team within APAC region, produce PowerPoint presentations, scientific posters and lab reports on XRF applications.
- Support marketing activities that will include attending scientific conferences to share the latest innovations in XRF by Bruker.
- Collaborate with XRF user community on method development.
Qualifications:
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Earth Science or related Physical Science. Ph.D in any of these disciplines is preferred.
- Minimum 3-year experience in laboratory operations with hands-on experience in EDXRF, WDXRF and sample preparation techniques.
- Knowledge and/or experience in other quantitative elemental analysis techniques (ICP-MS, AAS, OES) would be beneficial.
- Knowledge and/or experience in industrial, mineral or petrochemical quality control environment would be beneficial.
- Motivated, self learner and confident in public speaking to audiences of diverse background.
- Travelling is expected to be up to 40 %, mostly regional but occasionally international.
- Possess a valid Australian drivers’ license.
- Must be eligible to work in Australia at time of application.
