Summary:

The Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition plays a pivotal role in designing, executing, and continuously improving BlueLinx’s enterprise‑wide talent acquisition strategy. This leader is responsible for building scalable recruiting programs, mentoring and developing a high‑performing recruiting team, and partnering closely with hiring leaders and senior executives to deliver top‑tier talent across both hourly and salaried roles.

 

This role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on execution and brings a strong focus on process optimization, data‑driven decision making, and the responsible use of AI and technology to improve recruiter efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes.

 

The Senior Manager champions simplicity, consistency, and innovation—ensuring that recruiting processes are compliant, repeatable, and designed to scale with the business. 

 

This is a hybrid position, 4 days on-site at our Marietta headquarters.

 

Primary Duties: 

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to a team of recruiters, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and execute enterprise talent acquisition strategies aligned with company goals, workforce plans, and growth initiatives
  • Lead workforce planning discussions to proactively anticipate hiring demand and optimize recruiting capacity and support models
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology, automation, reporting, and AI‑enabled tools to streamline recruiting workflows and improve outcomes
  • Oversee full‑cycle recruiting efforts for corporate, salaried, and hourly roles, ensuring quality, speed, and consistency
  • Partner closely with hiring leaders to define search requirements, hiring priorities, role scope, compensation, and candidate profiles
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with third‑party vendors, including contingent labor, staffing agencies, retained search firms, and technology providers
  • Advance employment branding initiatives through job boards, social media, recruitment marketing campaigns, and community or university partnerships
  • Establish and track recruiting KPIs (e.g., time to fill, quality of hire, candidate experience metrics) and deliver weekly/monthly insights with actionable recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the hiring process
  • Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Compensation, and other HR Centers of Excellence to align recruiting programs with broader talent strategies

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven talent acquisition leader with experience managing recruiters and scaling recruiting operations
  • Strong process orientation with demonstrated success improving recruiting efficiency through technology, reporting, and AI‑enabled solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence leaders at all levels
  • Data‑driven mindset with experience developing metrics, dashboards, and insights to guide decisions
  • Hands‑on recruiting expertise across hourly and salaried roles in a corporate or enterprise environment

 

Education & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition or related HR functions
  • 5+ years of experience with a Master’s degree

Certifications:

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and recruiting best practices
  • Proficiency with ATS and HR technology platforms - Dayforce a plus
  • Strong consultative, communication, and relationship‑building skills
  • Experience leading process improvement, system implementations, and vendor partnerships
  • Ability to operate autonomously while driving enterprise‑level initiatives

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate based on the position requirements and market data. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
