Director of Nursing (DON)

Salary: Up to $130,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time
Location: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Position Overview

A premier Skilled Nursing Facility is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. The ideal candidate will oversee all nursing operations, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and promote the highest standards of resident care and employee engagement.

The Director of Nursing will work closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to maintain clinical excellence and deliver outstanding outcomes for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate all nursing personnel and nursing services
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
  • Monitor resident care plans and ensure quality standards are consistently met
  • Lead staff development, education, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Oversee infection control, risk management, and quality assurance programs
  • Coordinate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary departments regarding resident care
  • Assist with surveys and ensure facility readiness for inspections
  • Manage staffing schedules, labor costs, and departmental budgets
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in good standing
  • Previous experience as a Director of Nursing in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
  • Strong knowledge of SNF regulations, survey process, and clinical operations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and mentor nursing staff
  • Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation
