To provide high-quality Occupational Therapy services to children from birth to age three with developmental delays and disabilities. This role partners closely with families to support children’s development through individualized interventions, family coaching, and collaboration with the ECI team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
- Masters’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of child development and developmental milestones.
- Understanding of therapeutic strategies to support motor, sensory, and adaptive skill development.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary team members.
Minimum Experience:
- One year of experience working with young children, preferably in early intervention, pediatrics, or family-centered settings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide direct Occupational Therapy services to children and families in home and community settings.
- Participate in developmental screenings and evaluations as part of the ECI team.
- Interpret assessment data, prepare clear reports, and share results with families in a supportive manner.
- Partner with families and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and review Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
- Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and documentation in compliance with program, state, and federal guidelines.
- Serve as a resource for families and staff regarding motor development, adaptive equipment, and strategies to support participation in daily routines.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as assigned.
- Maintain licensure requirements and remain current with evidence-based practices and professional development.
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical practice, and respect for diversity and confidentiality.
Equipment Used:
- Daily use of laptop, electronic health records systems, and other technology or equipment necessary for documentation, communication, and service delivery.
- Adaptive and assistive devices as appropriate to support child and family needs.

- Ability to provide services in family homes, including those that may not be ADA accessible.
