Job Description

Position Summary:

A Product Sales Specialist is responsible to plan, implement, and execute targeted sales and marketing programs in a defined territory by providing technical expertise in a company product line (Robot, Vision, IIOT, etc.).  Work with the Sales Engineer team to provide customer sales and service support by assembling, programming, and integrating proof of concepts in a coordinated sales process to demonstrate company abilities to a prospective customer.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Work with the Sales Engineer team to identify a sales plan and close opportunities in your defined product expertise.  Focus on closing current opportunities as well as generating new business in coordination with overall sales efforts in the territory.  Identify and uncover sales opportunities in the accounts you help service. 
  • Engage in extensive on-site customer contact to conduct sales and demonstration activities.  Develop strong sales positions; introduce new products, identify product applications, and keep account informed of product developments.  Act as a liaison between the customer and the company’s suppliers.  Requires in-person customer interaction.
  • Organize and conduct proof of concept strategies to cultivate and close opportunities.  Work with the supplier to quote the desired solution and run the full life cycle of the sale.
  • Work with supplier representatives in local contacts with customers; keep abreast of customer equipment to ensure prompt response to potential needs.
  • Conduct and attend training seminars and workshops.  Attend team meetings as required.
  • Operate company vehicle; perform preventative maintenance necessary to ensure proper vehicle performance.  Requires travel to customer site.
  • Responsible for procedures to ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with general or specific authorization.  Maintain accurate, complete and timely records of business transactions.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in formulating and successfully implementing goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with other departments or divisions on matters of mutual concern and responsibilities.
  • Write and deliver presentations and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Perform other similar or related assignments as responsibilities dictate or as assigned by supervisor.

Education/ Work Experience:

Required:

  • Two or more years of experience in sales
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Desire and ability to meet and deal with customers in an effective manner
  • Familiar with technical product applications, demonstrations, and customer relations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel
  • Requires ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of industrial automation products
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Has a pleasant, patient, and friendly attitude
  • Detail oriented with strong listening skills
  • Possess a solid work ethic and team player mentality
