Job Description

Cypress Lake Recovery is a premier Residential Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment Center in East Texas, offering holistic care for drug and alcohol addiction

We are seeking a PRN (On-Call) Recovery Advocate to help support, guide, and encourage our residents on their path to healing.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitates didactic lectures, workshops, educational resident groups, and resident community meetings.
  • Recognize, prevent, and respond to situations in which a resident may be a danger to self or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, may be experiencing a crisis situation or may be experiencing a medical emergency.
  • Read, interpret, and implement client’s treatment plan.
  • Coordinate recreational and social activities for residents within the milieu.
  • Provides support and encouragement to residents, demonstrating warmth, empathy, and genuineness.
  • Conducts luggage searched and room searches as necessary for safety.
  • Attends and participates in Treatment Team meetings as requested.
  • Maintains accurate and timely charting in the EMR system.
  • Performs basic housekeeping duties during course of shift.
  • Monitor and maintain the safety of residents, inclusive of removing pests and wildlife.
  • Transport residents to and from the facility, appointments, and various other patient centered errands as needed.
  • Assists with any resident assignments as directed.

JOB SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Knowledge of resident rights and provision of treatment that promotes resident dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice.
  • Able to meet the unique needs of our resident population, taking into consideration diagnosis and trauma informed care.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with residents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, using non-judgmental words and behaviors, using person-centered language, and engages in active and reflective listening.
  • Recognizes, respects, and adapts to diversity, differences, and cultural traditions of residents.
  • Knowledge and application of confidentiality requirements and HIPAA.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in behavioral health preferred.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
