Grounds Worker

There are four openings for the Grounds Worker position. One opening will start as soon as possible, the other three will begin on or after April 1, 2026. The Grounds Worker position performs basic grounds maintenance work using hand tools, walk-behind and riding motorized equipment. This is a temporary/seasonal position, working 40 hours per week for up to 1000 hours in the calendar year. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm, and the rate of pay will be $18.20/hour.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Mow, edge, trim, and aerate lawns.
  • Weed, water, fertilize, and spray lawns.
  • Assist with pruning duties.
  • Snow and ice removal by hand and with motorized equipment.
  • Litter and leaf
  • Routine maintenance of groundskeeping
  • Moving bleachers and/or picnic

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or
  • A valid Michigan driver’s license with a satisfactory driving
  • Good mechanical aptitude/abilities.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in grounds maintenance and the operation of mechanized equipment is
