About Justice Cannabis Co.

Justice Cannabis Co. is a growing multi-state cannabis organization committed to operational excellence, compliance, and building strong teams across our business. We operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where collaboration, accountability, and adaptability are critical to success.

About the Role

Justice Cannabis Co. is seeking a highly organized, proactive Paralegal to support legal operations across our growing organization. This role will partner closely with Corporate Counsel, external legal partners, and internal business leaders to manage corporate filings, contracts, legal documentation, and regulatory support.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring our legal operations remain organized, compliant, and responsive to business needs.

What You Should Know About This Role

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys autonomy and does not require a large internal legal team structure to be successful. Our Corporate Counsel is located remotely, and this position serves as the primary on-site legal support for the business.

You’ll work closely with leadership, operations, compliance, and external legal partners in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. We’re looking for someone who is self-directed, adaptable, and excited to help build structure—not someone seeking a traditional law firm environment with a large legal department.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Legal Support

  • Manage business entity filings, annual reports, registrations, and corporate documentation across multiple states
  • Maintain corporate records, legal files, governance documents, and entity compliance records
  • Assist with preparing board resolutions, corporate documentation, and legal correspondence
  • Track legal deadlines and ensure timely completion of required filings
  • Support Corporate Counsel with legal documentation and special projects

Contract Management

  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, organizing, and tracking contracts
  • Maintain contract databases and monitor renewal deadlines
  • Coordinate contract execution and documentation retention

Legal Operations & Compliance Support

  • Partner with internal departments to support legal requests and documentation needs
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on legal matters as needed
  • Maintain legal filing systems and document organization
  • Assist with regulatory filings and compliance documentation
  • Support document collection for legal matters, audits, and business transactions

Administrative Support

  • Manage legal calendars, deadlines, and follow-up items
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and legal documentation for leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve legal workflows and processes

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of paralegal, corporate legal, legal operations, or related experience
  • Strong experience with corporate filings, contracts, document management, and legal administration
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting corporate legal departments
  • Multi-state business experience
  • Compliance or regulatory experience
  • Experience in highly regulated industries preferred
  • Cannabis industry experience is a plus but not required

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Strong follow-through and accountability
  • Able to build structure where needed
  • Collaborative and business-minded
  • Adaptable and solutions-oriented
