Position Summary:

• Western Middle School is seeking one (1) full-time 8th Grade teacher with an endorsement in Language Arts (BA) for the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the ELA curriculum to 8th-grade students while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. 

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

• Curriculum Delivery: Responsible for delivering the English Language Arts curriculum to 8th-grade students.


• Student Engagement: Ability to connect meaningfully with middle school students.


• Collaboration: Actively participate in a Professional Learning Community (PLC).


• Subject Expertise: Possess specific subject area knowledge in Language Arts.


• Communication: Regularly communicate with students, families, staff, and other stakeholders.


• Problem Solving: Strong ability to problem-solve and seek creative solutions.

Qualifications:

• Certification: Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.


• Endorsement: Must have an endorsement in Language Arts (BA).


• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
