POSITION
Assistant Golf Professional
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Lead Assistant Golf Professional, the Assistant Golf Professional position will assist with the management of daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, supervising golf staff, assisting with all merchandising functions, managing tournaments, teaching lessons, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.
REPORTS TO Head Golf Professional
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete the requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification in
- The PGA of America
- Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in
- the absence of the Lead Assistant Golf Professional
- Provide excellent customer services, professional advice and assistance to all patrons
- Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with
- the starter
- Manage the total operation of the practice facility
- Provide golf instruction and clinics that are consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures
- Supervise and train golf shop personnel as directed by the Director of Golf
- Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, control, promotion and sales of
- merchandise
- Assistant with the repair club business
- Always conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintaining a professional image
- Be informed on, and promote all facility activities and services
- Manage the handicap program
- Assist in managing tournaments and outings
- Periodically review and update policies and procedures for the golf operations
- Assist with the management of the intern, starter, and ranger programs
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Related experience is required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to maintain professional status through interface with customers, management, and co-workers.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules, including but not limited to extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand and walk for extended periods; use hands to, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift more than 25lbs. Physical stamina and a proper mental attitude to work under pressure at a fast pace are essential. Must have the mental fortitude to handle the pressures of multiple tasks while providing excellent guest service.
