The Department of Economic Security is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Fleet Supervisor. The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Fleet Unit. This position will manage, develop, implement, and monitor policies related to the unit's functions. The fleet Supervisor unit will maintain the department's fleet of vehicles used for agency business and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability in this area. This position is also responsible for the creation and tracking of all DES critical fleet data reporting. Also responsible for the presentation of fleet data metrics and communicating that data to the agency at large. This position will develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with vendors, internal and external customers and other professionals in similar fields in other state agencies. They will manage and complete special projects to ensure the achievement of agency goals.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Directly and through subordinate staff , assigns, monitors, and approves work.
● Responsible for coaching and mentoring the fleet team on vehicle scheduled maintenance, updating utilization reports, safe driving educational materials.
● Ensure compliance with department, federal, and state laws, rules, regulations, and policies as they apply to DES.
● Identifies strategies and tactics to improve efficiency, effectiveness, accountability, and customer service.
● Prepares a variety of correspondence and reports for agency management, including narrative and statistical reports on fleet utilization and expenditures.
● Monitors fleet expenditures and determines the most cost-effective use of state vehicles. Develops, implements, and acquisition as necessary costs and revises vehicle DES fleet assignments policies for the program's procedures.
● Creation of the annual budget for equipment acquisition costs and vehicle assignments for the programs within the agency. Address high-priority requests from agency leadership.
● Responsible for all aspects of new vehicle purchases; title, registration and coordination of deployment with agency leadership.
● Responsible for working with outside agencies in preparation of documentation for the disposal of agency vehicles and delivering documents to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for vehicle auction/sales.
● Represents the Department in a variety of meetings with other state agency officials (e.g. ADOT, Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), Department of Economic Security (DES), etc.
● Provides mentoring and coaching to agency personnel on all processes and procedures related to fleet vehicles such as vehicle breakdown procedures, accident process, and coordinates with outside entities on vehicle repairs.

Selective Preference(s):
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
● Two (2) years of supervision/management experience. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in management, business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field will substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
● This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
● Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
● All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
● Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.

Retirement:
State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
