Elementary Spanish Immersion - Bilingual Teacher. School District of Kansas City 33 d/b/a Kansas City Public Schools. Kansas City, Missouri. Responsible for providing total immersion education and core language instruction in Spanish to public elementary school students. Responsible for teaching core subjects in Spanish to public elementary school students. Assist with the development and implementation of the Spanish teaching curriculum. Prepare course objectives and outline for Spanish language course of study following state and school curriculum guidelines and requirements. Prepare, administer, and correct Spanish language tests, and record test results. Assign Spanish lessons, correct papers, and hear oral presentations. Maintain order in the classroom, attendance records, and grade records. Counsel students when adjustment and academic problems arise. Discuss student academic, behavioral attitudes, and achievements with parents. Attend on-going training and professional development to maintain success of programs. Learn current teaching strategies and procedures to assure success of the foreign language program. Assist the Foreign Language Resource teacher. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related degree. Demonstrated experience teaching Spanish in primary education. Requires Missouri State Teacher Certification in Elementary Education (1-6).
