Job Description


  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS





    • The Dietary Manager provides administrative and operational leadership to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective daily operations of dietary services at Berkshire Medical Center. This role oversees workflow and supervises all nutrition-related programs, including food production, catering, cafeteria services, receiving, and patient meal service. Acting on behalf of the organization, the Manager ensures that high-quality meals are consistently delivered to patients, visitors, and staff in accordance with departmental standards and regulatory requirements. The position also plans and supervises the preparation and service of menu cycles, including breakfast and lunch.






  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)




    • Experience:





      • Five years previous food services leadership experience  preferred.





      • Three years of food service operations experience required.




      • Experience working with government and third-party payers preferred.



      • Customer Service experience required.



      • Experience with Hospital regulations and compliance.



      • Meditech Client Server experience preferred.



      • Experience in a multi-hospital system preferred.





    • Education and Training:





      • Associate’s degree in nutrition related field preferred.






    • License, Certification & Registration:





      • CDMCFP - Certified Dietary Manager





      • SERVES- Servesafe Certification within six months of employment.




      • Process improvement certification preferred.





    • Other Requirements:




      • Proven leadership skills in quality and process improvement.



      • Must be an energetic leader who embraces change.



      • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum direct supervision and the ability to set priorities and make critical decisions.



      • Effective oral and written communications skills



      • Strong interpersonal and ability to work as a member of a team.
