Full Time-Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the planning and delivery of social rehabilitative programs as a required element of inmate treatment. Participate with the treatment team in the development and delivery of individualized, comprehensive plans of care. Participate and coordinate discharge planning.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Assist inmates in developing skills for performing daily manual tasks
- Assist inmates in practicing functional, pre-vocational, vocational, cell sanitation and self-care skills/activities of daily living
- Assist inmates in sensor/motor, educational, recreational and social activities designed to help inmates (including handicapped inmates) develop and regain physical and mental functioning and adjust to limitations
- Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans for assigned inmates, consistent with current policies and procedures
- Interview inmates to ascertain specific needs and provide appropriate counsel
- Select constructive activities suited to each individual’s physical capacity, level of intelligence, interests and degree of independence
- Assist inmates in preparing for release
- Teach individual skills and techniques needed to capably participate in life activities and evaluate individual progress
- Aid inmates in developing a better sense of duty and responsibility toward society
- Review inmates’ educational backgrounds and discuss plans for continuing education
- Provide appropriate documentation in the medical record regarding any changes in an inmate’s functionality, the occurrence of critical incidents, group counseling and individual counseling
- Consult with Probation, the Police Department, the Prosecutor’s Office and other agencies to coordinate rehabilitation efforts
- Abide by the security regulations and confidentiality requirements of the facility assigned to
- Participate in on-going assessment and discharge planning
- Participate in and contribute to the planning of training activities
- Maintain regular contact with supervisors
- Assume personal responsibility for on-going professional growth and development
- Assist with bi-weekly telepsychiatry as requested by supervisors
- Perform other duties as requested by the Psychiatrist in a manner consistent with the Social Services profession, the goals and objectives of the program, and CFG and DOC policies
- Comply with the employment standards of both CFG and the assigned facility
- Adherent to the assigned work schedule
