Job Description

Operations Assistant (Floater) - San Francisco

Summary/Objective:

Responsible to assist the Regional Operations Manager of regional operations department for all the centralized operational, administrative activities, and development of the retail branches, include but not limit to provide operational supports/branch coverage and to ensure effective and efficient operations at retail branches.

  • Coordinate retail branches to review, consolidate and submit daily disposition of uncollected fund, non-sufficient fund, overdrafts and non-post items to NYR clearing department.
  • Process requests from SSA/SSI Asset Verification Program
  • IRA (Individual Retirement account) administration
  • Liaise with third party vendor – Wolters Kluwer
  • Contribution/transfer/rollover
  • Distribution
  • Regulatory disclosures, reports deliver to customers
  • Report interest earning and all related activities to Wolters Kluwer
  • Other account maintenance
  • IRA account reconciliation
  • IRA account trouble shooting
  • Maintain and manage the Merchant Remote Deposit Capture services
  • Handling disputes of POS and ATM claim (per Regulation E)
  • Maintain banks operational policies, procedures and practices to ensure adherence to operational risk management, and banking regulations.
  • Coordinate of legal process handling – levies, garnishments and subpoenas
  • Perform surprise cash count and branch operational directives audit
  • Coordinate with retail branches to provide requested documents to auditors and examiners for audit.
  • Prepare various financial and management reports
  • Perform Banking Services Specialist job function to cover retail branches due to shortage of branch staffs.
  • Take incoming phone calls, answer customer inquiries, transfer calls as requested.
  • Greet customers, direct customers to other branch personnel as needed and assist customers with their inquiries.
  • Open new accounts, close accounts, complete deposit tickets, withdrawal slips and verify account information in the system.
  • At customer’s request, prepare wire transfer applications, stop payments, internal fund transfers and change of address, etc.
  • Perform teller works: process checks, cash deposits, check cashing, and withdrawals from accounts; verify customer signatures on incoming checks.
  • Perform end of proof and balance teller cash box at end of shift.
  • Prepare currency shipment to FBR.
  • Provide other supports and assist Regional Operations Manager, as needed.

Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Most work is completed in an office environment. Walking around the office and talking to employees and supervisors is required.

Travel Requirements: Reasonable business travels amongst retail branches, customer visits, trainings and other applicable bank – related trips are required.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university;
or at least two years related experience and/or training.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Qualifications:

Mathematical Skills – ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should be computer literate with knowledge in Windows and various Microsoft applications include but not limit to Word, Excel Spreadsheet, Power Point and Adobe PDF; able to utilize internet to perform researches as needed.

Language/Communication Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of organization. Bilingual with English and Chinese preferred.
