Job Description

Document Control Administrator – Airport $1.3 Billion 

Location: San Antonio, Texas (On Construction Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Project Engineers & Project Managers

Overview

We are seeking a Project Document Control Administrator to support an active construction project located on-site in San Antonio, Texas. This role is responsible for managing the flow of project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, responses, and construction drawings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper distribution to the project team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Log, track, and maintain all project documents within the designated document management system.
  • Log, track, and maintain all quality control and safety records as provided by the quality control and safety teams.
  • Administer the full RFI and submittal process, including intake, routing, tracking, and close-out.
  • Route RFIs and submittals to the appropriate subcontractor, prime contractor staff, or design professional.
  • Monitor response timelines and follow up to support timely resolution.
  • Post approved RFIs, submittals, and responses to the project site and notify relevant stakeholders.
  • Distribute construction drawings and revisions, ensuring only current documents are in use.
  • Maintain drawing and revision logs and remove obsolete documents from circulation.
  • Coordinate closely with project engineers and on-site staff to support daily document needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Three to five (3–5) years of experience in document control or project administration within a construction environment.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, and construction drawings on active projects.
  • Familiarity with construction terminology and project workflows.
  • Proficiency with electronic document management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in San Antonio, Texas.

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam Session, Trimble ProjectSight, and Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
