    Compensation Information

    Hourly Rate: $16.25 � $29.25 per hour, based on the Classified Salary Schedule.

    This is a nine-month position that follows the school calendar and is prorated for the remainder of the school year. Daily schedule (morning, midday, and afternoon routes) will be determined by the Director of Support Services. The District offers a prorated comprehensive benefits package.


    Position Summary

    The Bus Assistant Paraprofessional supports the safe transportation of students, including students with special needs, by assisting the Bus Driver and supervising students during transport and designated supervision times. This position ensures student safety, assists with behavior management, and provides care as needed while maintaining compliance with district safety procedures.


    Qualifications for the Position

    • High school diploma required
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • Experience working in healthcare, with children with learning or physical disabilities, or in a school setting, preferred, but not required
    • Ability to assist students entering and exiting the bus safely
    • Ability to load and unload students using mechanical lift equipment and properly secure students using seat belts, car seats, safety vests, or wheelchair securement systems
    • Ability to assist with route navigation, documentation of disciplinary reports, and maintaining bus cleanliness
    • Ability to assist with emergency evacuations and safety drills
    • Ability to supervise students on the bus and in designated school areas before and after school
    • Ability to manage student behavior, monitor safety, assist students to and from classrooms, and respond to minor injuries or illnesses
    • Ability to perform basic clerical tasks and assist with communication between home and school
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
    • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned by the administration

    • Criminal background check required
    • CPR and First Aid certification required within one month of hire
    • All employment agreements are subject to approval by the Board of Education
