    Salary: $3,719 - $6,508 per season, based upon relevant prior experience

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Varsity Football Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the high school football program, including player development, practice planning, game execution, and fostering positive team culture. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned

    • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and conditioning programs
    • Support game preparation, including film review, scouting opponents, and developing strategies
    • Coach a specific position group (e.g. offense, defense, special teams)
    • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team events
    • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect among players
    • Monitor academic progress and encourage student-athlete success in the classroom
    • Ensure compliance with school, district, league, and state athletic association rules
    • Assist with equipment management, inventory, and maintenance
    • Help coordinate off-season training and summer programs
    • Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaching staff, and administration
    • Attend coaching meetings, professional development, and required trainings
    • Support program goals, fundraising efforts, and community engagement activities
    • Commitment to regular and predictable attendance

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Previous coaching experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and strategies
    • Ability to teach and motivate student athletes of various skill levels
    • Effective communication and leadership skills
    • Commitment to student athlete development and well-being
    • Satisfactory background check

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

    The employee must be able to:

    • Stand for extended periods during practices and games
    • Sit for extended periods on buses for away games and tournaments
    • Perform and demonstrate football skills and movements
    • Move up and down the field, observe players, and actively engage with them
    • React quickly in fast-paced game play and to ensure player safety
    • Lift and move footballs, goals, training gear, and other equipment (typically up to 25-50 lbs)
    • Project voice loudly and clearly in noisy environments
    • Maintain composure under stress
