Position Summary

McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Traffic Designer I. The ideal candidate will work as part of a team on a variety of traffic analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects for public agencies. Projects are likely to range from concept development and preliminary engineering studies to final design.

Responsibilities

•    Conduct field data collection and/or field observations. 

•    Support traffic analysis and study efforts including data collection, traffic projections, Synchro, crash analysis.

•    Support design efforts of signal plans, signing and pavement markings plans, and traffic control plans.

•    Deliver quality projects in accordance with accepted schedule and budget.

•    Possess and/or develop written and verbal communication skills.

•    Organized team player able to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

•    B.S. in Civil Engineering.

•    0-4 years of experience in the field of traffic engineering.

•    An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred.

•    Hands-on experience with common traffic engineering software, including Synchro and HCS (VISSIM a plus).

•    Working knowledge of CAD (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD).

•    Strong communication and technical writing skills.

•    Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
