Job Description

Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a Registered Nurse, Risk Manager to support our team! This position is a hybrid role that will require quarterly visits to Center City Philadelphia and about 4 site-visits per month to any of our offices throughout PA and NJ. 

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM

Job Summary:

The RN Risk Manager is responsible for working with the director of quality and risk management to audit areas identified during risk assessments, items pertinent to the medical practice as identified by data trends, and other risk areas identified by the department director.

Essential Duties:

  • Supports integration of malpractice, regulatory, claims and enterprise risk intelligence
  • Executes risk management practices, including investigations and implementation of action plans among other risk reduction strategies
  • Assists with creating an organization-wide culture of safety through embracing a blame free environment, modeling an inclusive and collaborative style, and fostering team building
  • Possess a knowledge of process Improvement tools, including meeting management, data collection/analysis, trending, report/letter writing, targeted education and presentation skills
  •  Competently track multiple processes and projects involving multiple people at the same time.
  • Creates and conducts risk assessments to identify areas of opportunity for the practice.
  • Assists with updates, creation and education on policies.
  • Track policy updates, changes, and archives  in department software
  • Documents investigations, corrective action plans, and communication, and educational efforts using department software.
  • Creates educational material, in-services, and other educational content for employees and physicians to assist with risk mitigation.
  • Work with the analytics team on developing and maintaining a risk management dashboard.
  • Regularly report risk management assessments, action plans, and educational efforts to the director and internal committees.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Ensures care delivery is seamless through investigation and tracking to enhance patient safety protection

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Three (3) years working in the clinical setting of a medical practice, hospital, surgical center, or other healthcare organization
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to MS Office Software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPHRM (certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management), CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality), or CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) Preferred
  • Five (5) or more years progressive experience in healthcare with practical knowledge of healthcare risk management, quality management, or patient safety
