This is a Voluntary National Contribution (VNC) post within DIANA. VNCs have and will keep their statutory and/or contractual relationship with their government or other national authority throughout the period of their assignment to DIANA. As such, please ensure you have national support before applying.  
 

DIANA’s Communication Unit is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of DIANA’s outreach activities. Through a full range of public relations activities, the Communications team informs and engages relevant target audiences in the private and public sectors, in academia, and across defence and military organisations in 32 Allied Nations. 


The Public Relations Officer will be responsible for developing engagement campaigns, identifying interesting stories and successes from the participating start-ups, and applying military background to support media relations, social media strategies, stakeholder engagement, event, and communications planning. The Public Relations Officer will work closely with internal teams and external partners to support communication initiatives and promote DIANA's mission and objectives.

 

Duties of this role include:
• Ensure the timely preparation of all relevant public relations documents and files in accordance with the guidance received, including editing, formatting and digitalization. 
• Develop and implement communications for internal and external audiences including DIANA personnel, DIANA network members, academic, industry and government partners, defence and military experts, Allied stakeholders, 
and media.
• Assist with the execution of DIANA’s social media strategy and the creation and posting of social media content.
• Support the coordination and execution of events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours, and visits.
• Create and implement communication and marketing campaigns, draft press releases and other written materials, develop promotional materials and collateral.
• Track and analyze the effectiveness of public relations efforts. Prepare reports on communication activities, media coverage, and social media metrics to inform strategy and improve performance.
• Perform any other related duties as may be required.

 

The incumbent must have:
• Experience in the development and execution of public communication strategies and outreach activities; demonstrating the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and cultures.
• Experience in copyediting and presentation creation; demonstrating thorough detail-orientation. 
• Experience working with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Possess the following minimum level of NATO official languages (English): IV (“Very Good”).
