Job description:
We are seeking a Purchasing Agent with a strong background in the electrical wholesale industry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing inventory procurement, vendor relationships, and purchase order administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong, positive working relationships with domestic and international vendors.
- Analyze purchase requisitions from the warehouse team and place timely orders.
- Track supply inventory levels and determine purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual trends.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery terms to ensure timely arrival of materials for smooth production operations.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team on inventory management.
- Monitor purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delays.
- Manage the accounts payable process, including PO closure, invoice matching, and payment processing.
- Handle product rejections and discrepancies with vendors.
- Perform general purchasing administrative tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the electrical wholesale industry is mandatory.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to adjust to changing business needs.
Preferred / Advantageous Skills:
- Experience managing inventory purchasing.
- Knowledge of wholesale electrical distribution and familiarity with key industry manufacturers.
- Working knowledge of Epicor Solar Eclipse software is a significant plus.
