The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a day habilitation setting and within the community.
The Ellenville Day Hab is located in the village of Ellenville, overlooking the Sandburg Creek. This is a very active Day Program offering a variety of services and provides supports to thirty people as they gain independence and contribute to the communities in which they live. The dynamic team of DSPs at Ellenville Day Hab bring compassion and enthusiasm to their job, and have a strong desire to teach others.
A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: On-call/Monday through Friday/8:00 am to 4:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 17.76 to $ 19.54 per hour
