Job Title: Birthday Party Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Youth Program Director, the Birthday Party Attendant will be responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the program(s). Organize and implement activities and games for children as well as create a fun enthusiastic environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability to develop and maintain high levels of customer service with members and guests.

2. Sets up community room and all other party areas for parties and cleans up after the party

3. Communicates with parents or party host the day of the party, to meet the needs and expectations of each party.

4. Warmly and enthusiastically greet members. Actively listen to members and respond promptly and appropriately.

5. Facilitate organized birthday party activities and ensure children are active, interested and safe throughout the party.

6. Be able to effectively problem solve, taking full responsibility to remedy the situation and follow through to its completion.

7. Be able to work as a YMCA team member.

8. Make yourself available to all members regardless of age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, lifestyle, or fitness level.

9. Consistently monitor member participation and provide feedback.

10. Ensure overall cleanliness of YMCA.

11. Enforce all YMCA policies and procedures.

12. Be familiar with YMCA emergency procedures. Respond promptly and appropriately.

13. Products or services that are not a part of YMCA programs shall not be promoted or endorsed by any employee to any member or guest whether the employee is "on the clock" or not.

14. Assume all other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be at least 16 years of age

· Six months to one year experience working with Children.

· Certification in CPR/First Aid within 60 days of hire.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Must be able to work weekends

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

  • · Ability to visibly observe children.
  • · Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
  • · Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and transport equipment from one location to another.
  • · Ability to communicate with parents and children effectively.
  • · Observe and promote safety and security procedures.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
