TITLE: Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA) Building Ambassadors


 


LOCATION: Urbana Early Childhood 


 


SUPERVISOR: The building principal and the Director of Human Resources


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Under the direction of the Principal and the Director of Human Resources, collaborate with the building administrative team, Central Office, and teachers.

  • Work collaboratively with the building principal/administrative team to lead professional development regarding Urbana School Distrtict’s PERA evaluation model.

  • Communicate positively and clearly with administrators, teachers, and Central Office personnel.

  • Support groups or individual teachers with questions regarding their evaluation cycle and PERA components

  • Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of individual teachers.

  • Attend and participate in PERA ambassador meetings that are led by either building or district administration 

  • Be the point of contact for PERA questions at your building

  • Be knowledgeable in all parts of the PERA handbook and evaluation components

  • Collaborate with new teachers and new teacher mentors on how USD #116’s implements PERA

  • Check in with teachers about their PERA timelines and help remind them of their evaluation responsibilities.

  • Follow the PERA handbook

  • Support the start of the year PERA presentation 

  • Hold SGO "Office Hours"

  • Support SGO calibration with Admin and Ambassadors


 


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Proven commitment to professional development and reflective practices

  • Ability to lead professional development activities at the building level

  • Ability to form strong professional relationships with colleagues

  • Ability to support new teachers with all PERA requirements 

  • Current USD #116 Certified Employee with three or more years of service with the Urbana School District

  • Tenured teacher, preferred 


 


LICENSES/CREDENTIAL: Current Illinois Professional Educator License 


 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 



  • This is a stipend-position paid at the rate of pay of $1,000.

  • This is at least a one-year commitment for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • This is not an administrative position. 

  • This stipend position does not interfere with other stipend position responsibilities.


 


START:  School Year 2026-2027


 


EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
