Battery Pack Assembly Manufacturing Process Engineering is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to procure equipment and launch assembly processes for battery packs used in the electric vehicles at plants across North America and Mexico. The Battery Pack Assembly Manufacturing Process Engineer candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Work with team to design, run off, install, and launch high volume battery packs
- Provide manufacturing input to product design
- Support assembly station, transport, and test equipment design & procurement
- Simultaneous Engineering - Digital Job 1 (Virtual Validation)
- Manage OEM Runoff, Installation, Commissioning, Launch ROC
- Support costs study submissions as required
- Review lessons learned and incorporate into process development
- Develop PFMEA’s and work with PD to complete SCCAF’s
- Follow MPS and ensure PD is following specified MDS
- Cycle Line Layout/Facilities Layout
- Develop statement of work for initial POs for Design and Build
- Support/write POs
- Support MIDAS deliverables for equipment validation
- Ensure OEMs are providing quality SOW for installation. Support equipment planning and installation
- Lead and support builds through ROC. Lead and support issue resolution from builds PDCA
- Documented standardized work instructions
- Collaborate with all levels of personnel, for the duration of a program
- Extensive travel within North America will be required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Understanding/experience of overall manufacturing processes (Battery preferred) and manufacturing business acumen.
- Minimum 2+ years on major projects.
- Experience implementing large scale projects as a Manufacturing Engineer or Project Manager on new specialized manufacturing lines.
- Familiarity with simulation tools, digital methods: AutoCAD / Siemens PLM etc. developing layouts in AutoCAD
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Travel and mobility with short term relocation / ability to work remote is key
Preferred Qualifications:
- Launch experience in battery assembly.
- Mechanical design stack up understanding.
- Strong understanding of assembly systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Validated project management skills
- Scope of work development proficiency
- PFMEA/FMEA/Risk Assessment proficiency
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), AutoCAD, Teamcenter, Aurora

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 and ranges from $74,300-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
