Job Description

Pediatric Hospitalist - Medical Doctor

Good Samaritan University Hospital is redefining what it means to be a university hospital by integrating medicine, science, innovation, compassion, and teaching.

The hospital recently broke ground on a 300,000-square-foot Patient Care Pavilion, featuring a 75-bay Emergency Department, 16 state-of-the-art operating rooms, and three floors of private patient rooms.

GSUH offers residency programs in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Podiatric Surgery, and OB/GYN, along with fellowships in Gynecologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. The hospital is also a sponsoring institution for the PM&R residency program at Mercy Hospital and a major clinical campus for NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

The Pediatric Hospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient care for pediatric patients, including newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing pediatric admissions, daily rounds, and discharges
  • Providing care in the newborn nursery and pediatric inpatient units
  • Collaborating with pediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participating in family-centered care and patient education
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives and clinical excellence
  • Contributing to teaching and mentoring of residents and medical students

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice medicine in New York State
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics (within 3 years)
  • BLS and PALS certification required (ACLS preferred), from the American Heart Association (no online-only courses accepted)
