Location: UF Spanish Plaines (formerly UF The Villages) and/or UF Leesburg
Schedule: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM | 3 nights on / 5 nights off


Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Hospitalist ARNP/PA to join our team. This role is ideal for a proactive, team-oriented clinician who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on patient and organizational needs. The ideal candidate is a “go-getter” who can step into dynamic situations, collaborate closely with colleagues, and effectively problem-solve in real time.

Candidates must be either new graduates or have at least one (1) year of hospitalist experience. In accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, all applicants must provide current-year case logs.


Primary Responsibilities

In addition to standard APRN/PA duties, responsibilities include:

  • Perform admissions, comprehensive assessments, and History & Physicals (H&Ps)
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Respond to and manage floor calls from nursing staff for established patients
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
  • Diagnose conditions and communicate findings with patients and families
  • Prescribe and administer treatments and medications as appropriate
  • Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams, including placing orders and performing bedside evaluations when needed
  • Complete Emergency Department (ED) consults to support appropriate diversions and facilitate safe return to point of origin when admission is not required
  • Conduct patient experience rounds and discharge visits to ensure understanding of care plans and promote optimal outcomes
  • Coordinate care with Population Health teams to support continuity and preventative interventions
  • Review and address Health Information Exchange (HIE) feeds to assist in early identification and intervention for ED-utilizing patients
  • Communicate effectively with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) partners to ensure seamless handoffs for patients being admitted to or discharged from the hospital
  • Coordinate specialty referrals as appropriate
  • Provide preventive care counseling, including diet, hygiene, and disease prevention
  • Administer vaccines and inoculations as needed
  • Report deaths and communicable diseases in accordance with state regulations
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient, patient-centered care delivery
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support clinical and operational needs

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Florida license (ARNP or PA)
  • Florida DEA license
  • Current National Board Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Recent hospital-based experience (within the past 12 months preferred)
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
