Description
COMPENSATION: $75,000-$110,000/Year with performance bonus opportunity
Key Responsibilities
· Project estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and budgets for low voltage projects.
· Technical design: Design low voltage systems, which can include CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and structured cabling.
· Project planning: Perform quantity takeoffs from blueprints and conduct site surveys to assess project requirements.
· Coordination and collaboration: Work closely with sales, project management, and field operations teams to ensure projects are estimated accurately and executed successfully.
· Vendor and subcontractor management: Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate their bids, and obtain competitive pricing.
· Solution development: Develop and present solutions that meet the client's needs, often including value engineering to find cost-effective options.
· Risk assessment: Analyze historical data to anticipate potential risks, especially in complex industrial projects.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
· Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of low voltage systems, including electrical engineering principles and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
· Estimating and design: Experience with low voltage estimating software/spreadsheets and the ability to perform detailed takeoffs.
· Analytical skills: Proficiency in analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation.
· Software proficiency: Advanced experience with software like Microsoft Excel and project management tools, Bluebeam is often required.
· Communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to communicate technical information clearly and build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in low voltage contracting, estimating, or bid coordination.
