Position Summary
Septagon Construction Company is seeking a Design Technician – Level 1 to support our Architectural Design & Drafting team. This role is responsible for preparing working plans, detailed drawings, and schematics using CAD software while supporting project teams with accurate and timely construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD and Revit
- Apply standardized drafting techniques to produce accurate construction documents
- Assist in developing floor plans, wall sections, stair layouts, and supporting details
- Collaborate with architects, vendors, and project teams to gather project information
- Conduct field measurements and support document accuracy
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding timelines and deliverables
- Continuously develop knowledge in CAD systems, construction methods, and materials
- Demonstrate adaptability and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
- Uphold Septagon’s standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service
- Support safety and incident reporting procedures as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required, plus one of the following:
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in drafting or related field
- Minimum 2 years of commercial construction experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of commercial construction methods and materials
- Familiarity with PEMB (Pre-Engineered Metal Building) systems preferred
- Strong proficiency or willingness to learn AutoCAD and Revit
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
Work Environment & Expectations
- Primarily office-based with occasional visits to construction job sites
- May require occasional evening or weekend work for project deadlines
- Must be dependable, punctual, and prepared for work daily
