Position Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA assists residents in developing, recovering, and maintaining the skills needed for daily living and meaningful activities. This role plays a vital part in delivering person-centered, compassionate care that aligns with Campbell Street’s mission of Developing Exceptional People Who Drive Extraordinary Care.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents improve functional abilities.
- Document resident progress, treatment sessions, and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Observe, report, and communicate resident responses, progress, or concerns to the OT and interdisciplinary team.
- Assist with adaptive equipment use and training for residents and caregivers.
- Support residents in activities of daily living (ADLs), therapeutic exercises, and functional mobility.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
- Adhere to all facility policies, regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in care planning meetings, in-services, and team collaboration.
