What You’ll Do
As a Therapeutic Mentor, you will work one-on-one with children and adolescents with behavioral health challenges to help them achieve stability and success in the community. You’ll provide structured therapeutic activities, modeling, coaching, and skill-building, while working collaboratively with families and a multidisciplinary team.
Provide individual mentoring and support in home, school, and community settings
Reinforce treatment goals by helping youth develop coping skills and positive behaviors
Model and coach youth in social skills, emotional regulation, and goal achievement
Collaborate with clinicians, schools, and caregivers to coordinate care
Support families in accessing resources and community supports
Maintain accurate and timely documentation including progress notes and treatment updates
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development
Who You Are
High School Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree required
At least 2 years of experience working with children and families required
Experience working with youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance strongly preferred
Strong communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect youth and families to supports
Cultural competence and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
Comfortable using word processing, email, and documentation systems
