Job Description

Job Summary: 



The Residential Therapist will provide therapeutic support, assessments, and evidence-based treatment to individuals struggling with substance use disorders in a structured, residential setting.



 



Essential Functions: 




  1. Conduct Assessments & Evaluations: Perform comprehensive assessments for clients, including clinical interviews, substance use history, mental health evaluations, and risk assessments to create individualized treatment plans.

  2. Provide Individual and Group Therapy: Deliver individual therapy sessions, focusing on the client’s unique treatment needs. Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and other relevant techniques.

  3. Develop & Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to establish treatment goals and strategies. Regularly review and update treatment plans, ensuring progress is made toward achieving treatment objectives.

  4. Monitor Progress: Track client progress through documentation, regular progress notes, and case reviews. Adjust treatment plans as needed based on client progress, challenges, and changing needs.

  5. Provide Crisis Intervention & Support: Offer crisis management when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. Assist clients in managing high-risk situations related to substance use and mental health challenges.

  6. Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with medical staff, case managers, and other team members to ensure holistic care and support for clients. Attend team meetings and provide updates on client progress.

  7. Ensure Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with regulatory standards, confidentiality, and program policies. Prepare for and participate in case audits and treatment reviews.

  8. Educate Clients & Families: Provide psychoeducation on substance use disorders, recovery processes, and coping strategies. Involve family members, when appropriate, to foster a supportive recovery environment.

  9. Stay Current with Industry Trends: Attend training and professional development opportunities to stay informed on best practices, therapeutic modalities, and substance use treatment research.

  10. Engages in collaborative working relationships with Outpatient team members as well as with other agency programs and staff.

  11. Other duties as assigned.
