The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is accelerating its industrial growth through a major pipeline of factory construction and capital investment projects across Europe. To support this expansion, we are seeking a seasoned Europe’s PMO & Portfolio Leader to build and lead the regional PMO within our Real Estate function.

In this pivotal role, you will drive governance excellence, strategic prioritization, and consistent project execution across a portfolio of large-scale, multi-country construction programs. You will serve as the key integrator between regional delivery teams, corporate stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring clarity, alignment, and operational excellence.

You will design and implement PMO frameworks, manage interdependencies, monitor risks, and elevate transparency through high-impact reporting and digital tools. Your leadership will directly influence the transformation of our project delivery capabilities and support the timely and efficient development of world-class industrial facilities across Europe.

How You Will Make an Impact

  •  Lead the creation and operation of the European PMO, implementing global governance and delivery frameworks.

  • Drive best practices and continuous improvement across construction and capital project management.

  • Oversee the full regional portfolio of factory construction projects, ensuring alignment and optimal resource use.

  • Manage portfolio-wide risks, dependencies, performance trends, and crosscountry impacts.

  • Build executive dashboards and provide strategic insights on KPIs, schedule, budget, and risk.

  • Support regional project managers through strategic oversight and consistent project controls implementation.

  • Lead portfolio review cycles, governance forums, and senior stakeholder reporting across Europe.

  • Promote innovation through digital tools, project controls standards, training, and capabilitybuilding initiatives.

Your Background

  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Advanced certification such as PMP, PgMP, Prince2, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years’ leadership experience in portfolio and project management for construction/capital investment.

  • Proven track record delivering regional factory or industrial facility construction programs.

  • Experience in EPC, construction, or real estate development environments.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks across European markets.

  • Expertise in governance, project controls, reporting, and databased decision making.

  • English fluent. Any other EU language would be an asset.

  • Proficiency with portfolio tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, Smartsheet) and strong data management skills (SharePoint, ACC, Power BI).
