The SF Customs Brokerage Operator (Blue Collar) ensures that customs declarations for inbound and outbout shipments are submitted accurately and according to customs regulations. This role co-ordinates with stakeholders involved in the customs clearance process to ensure timely customs clearance of goods, and keeps up-to-date with customs laws and procedures to ensure compliance.

 

 

 

About the Job

  • Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and requirements. This involves preparing and submitting the necessary documentation, such as import/export declarations, licenses, permits, and certificates, on behalf of the company and its clients.
  • Playing a crucial role in classifying goods according to the appropriate tariff codes and determining their customs value. They need to have a strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs laws, and product classifications to accurately assess duties, taxes, and fees.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all import and export transactions, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and other relevant documents. They ensure that the documentation is complete, compliant, and readily accessible for customs authorities, auditors, and clients.
  • Acting as intermediaries between the company, clients, and various stakeholders involved in the supply chain. They liaise with customs officials, shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and other parties to ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods across borders.
  • Responsible for staying updated on changes in customs regulations, trade policies, and international trade agreements. They need to ensure that the company and clients are compliant with these regulations to minimize the risk of penalties, delays, or other issues. They may also provide advice and guidance on trade compliance matters.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their specific requirements, provide guidance on customs-related matters, and offer personalized solutions. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is important for repeat business and client satisfaction.
