    POSITION TITLE:  Water Safety Instructor

    ASSIGNMENT:  Water Safety Instructor

    Summer Employment Notice

    All summer employment positions are offered on an "at-will" basis. The duration listed is an estimated timeframe and does not guarantee continued employment for that period. Actual employment length may vary depending on student enrollment, program participation, and other operational needs.
     

     

          MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Must be American Red Cross certified in:
      1. Lifeguard Training
      2. CPR for the Professional Rescuer
      3. Standard First Aid
      4. Water Safety Instructor
    2. Must be at least 17 years of age
    3. Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening

    ADDITIONAL DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Must be a reliable, consistent, mature and physically fit individual
    2. Must be able to work with children (6 months to 13 years of age) as well as adults
    3. Must be able to teach in mornings and evenings for approximately 8 weeks
    4. Must be able to take constructive criticism and use it to your advantage to better your teaching abilities
    5. Must work well with other safety team members and deal with parents and bystanders

    PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Specific duties assigned under the direction of the Pool Manager and/or Coordinator of Swim Program

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

    Performs other duties as assigned

    TERM:

    Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process

    APPRAISAL:

    Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board Policy
