Job Description

Taos Charter School, a public K–8 charter school serving students and families across the Taos community, has announced the launch of a search for its next Executive Director following the retirement of current Executive Director Jeremy Jones at the end of the 2025–2026 school year.


 


 


Applications are now being accepted and will remain open until the position is filled. The new Executive Director is expected to begin July 1, 2026.


Leadership & Performance Evidence


Letter of Interest (1-3 pages)


Should address:




  • Alignment with the school’s mission, bilingual focus, and inquiry-based learning model




  • Leadership philosophy (instructional + operational)




  • Experience in NM charter schools or public education




  • Experience serving diverse communities including socio-economic, racial, linguistic, people with disabilities, cultural, and ethnic diversity.  




  • Vision for growth, sustainability, and community engagement




  • Community Engagement




Resume / Curriculum Vitae


Must clearly show:




  • Administrative and instructional leadership experience




  • Experience in NM charter school governance, leadership, and compliance (not specifically required)




  • Budget management experience




  • Staff supervision and evaluation experience




  • Licensure and certifications




Proof of Licensure




  • Valid New Mexico administrative license (or eligibility)




  • Teaching license (preferred)




  • Documentation of eligibility if applying from out of state




Professional References (3–5)


Must include:




  • At least one current or former supervisor




  • One board member (if previously served as ED)




Letters of Recommendation (Optional but Strongly Encouraged)


2–3 letters preferred.
