Position Title: RMA OR Technician

Location: Melville

At RMA Long Island IVF, we specialize in helping individuals and couples start or expand their families through cutting-edge reproductive technology. With high success rates in IVF and healthy pregnancies, we proudly serve patients throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. By joining our team, you’ll work alongside some of the most talented professionals in the industry, making a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and team-focused Operating Room Technician to support all aspects of the procedure room. This role includes assisting physicians with procedures, managing supplies, sterilizing equipment, and preparing for daily operations. During downtime, the technician may support clinical operations such as venipuncture (if qualified), vital signs, or chaperoning in exam rooms.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during procedures including oocyte retrievals, embryo transfers, MESA, TESE, and hysteroscopies with or without D&C.

  • Anticipate supply needs and communicate with leadership; ensure the OR is stocked and organized.

  • Operate and maintain the autoclave; perform and document weekly spore testing.

  • Clean, maintain, and track instruments, report damages and mentor new OR staff on instrument protocols.

  • Prepare all necessary equipment and ensure enough sterile “sets” are ready to prevent procedural delays.

  • Properly label, prepare, and send specimens to outside labs, following physician orders and OR team guidance.

  • Take and document patient vital signs when requested.

  • Serve as a chaperone during exams and procedures as needed.

  • Train and support clinical staff in OR procedures.

  • Communicate patient and OR issues to leadership promptly and clearly.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Certification as a Surgical Technician from an accredited program.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to take direction from physicians and clinical leaders.
