Job Description

Our Mission
Calvary provides a Christ-centered education from Infant–12th grade, focusing on the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. Inspired by Luke 2:52, we aim to help children grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and others.

Calvary Early Learning Center is seeking nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic caregivers and teachers for children ages 3-4 years old. This position supports a Christ-centered, developmentally appropriate program that fosters growth across all areas of early childhood development.

We offer both full-time and part-time positions, with part-time availability during the summer session (June 1st – July 31st).  Available shifts include:

  • 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports the growth and development of 3–4 year olds.
  • Promote school readiness by supporting children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through intentional, play-based learning experiences.
  • Model Christ-like behavior, demonstrating patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control in all interactions.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support early literacy, language development, fine motor skills, and early math concepts.
  • Lead structured and unstructured learning experiences, including circle time, small groups, centers, and hands-on exploration.
Encourage independence by guiding children through daily routines such as toileting, handwashing, and self-help skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that fosters curiosity and learning.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, co-workers, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Follow all licensing and health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of every child.
  • Support smooth transitions throughout the day, including arrival, centers, outdoor play, rest time, and dismissal.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to create a positive, consistent, and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children (3–4 years old) preferred.
  • Understanding of early childhood development with an emphasis on school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Knowledge of early literacy, language development, and foundational math skills for young learners.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young children and families.
  • A nurturing, patient, and positive attitude, with the ability to guide behavior and support independence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team in a structured classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
